There are fundamentally 2 Ways to Make this.
I) By the User Interface
II) By Changing HTML Code
1) Go:
Design > Edit HTML
2) Open the Browser Search by:
a) On a Mac -> Cmd+f
b) On a PC -> Ctrl+f
3) Searching:
name="body.background.color"
4) Change:
value="#YourHexRGBValue"

How to stretch your content window in Blogger
-Select the "Design" Link
-Select the "Design" Tab
-Select the "Edit HTML" Link
Click inside the "Template" Window
- On a PC press > "Ctrl+f" and in a Mac > "Cmd+f" to Open the Search Box
Type in: "content.width"
Look, find and change the Value of "value='860px'" to what you want.
And Good Luck ;)
